UN warns about gang control in Port-au-Prince

2025-09-13·Internacional·DW·ver fuente original

The United Nations warned that armed groups exercise control over most of Port-au-Prince, limiting the state's presence and affecting the population's daily lives.

The data was presented to the Security Council and is consistent with reports from humanitarian agencies and decisions by third countries, such as the extension of air restrictions by the United States.

Although there are precedents for questioning UN missions in Haiti, such as the 2010 cholera outbreak, the current reports have been corroborated by several international sources.
