The May 2025 Polimétrica survey, conducted by the firm Cifras & Conceptos, indicates that President Gustavo Petro's favorable opinion stands at 45%, while the unfavorable opinion stands at 52%, and 3% of respondents have no clear opinion.
Cifras & Conceptos is a nationally and internationally recognized polling firm, a member of ESOMAR and the Colombian Association of Market and Public Opinion Research Companies (ACEI). It is certified under the international standard ISO 20252:2012, which attests to the reliability and technical quality of its measurements.
The study's technical specifications indicate that 1,596 in-person, face-to-face interviews were conducted in homes using mobile devices in the cities of Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, and Barranquilla. The overall margin of error is ±4.3%, with variations by city depending on sample size. Sampling was multistage and stratified, with weighting by geographic area, age, sex, and socioeconomic status.
Fieldwork was conducted between April 24 and May 3, 2025, by a team of 62 interviewers and 7 supervisors. The statistician in charge was Miguel Ángel León.
The 45% approval rating marks an increase compared to previous polls and is in line with President Petro's strategy of promoting a referendum on social reforms and labor rights. Although Polimétrica's data sheet does not break down approval ratings by city, surveys by other firms, such as Invamer, have shown significant variations among major capitals.
