In July 2025, Colombia's Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) stood at 5.3%, its highest level in 13 months, according to Fedesarrollo's Consumer Opinion Survey (EOC). This result represents an increase of 3.1 percentage points compared to June and 14.3 points compared to the same month in 2024.

The increase was driven by a 5.6-point increase in the Economic Conditions Index and a 1.4-point increase in the Expectations Index. Fedesarrollo Director Luis Fernando Mejía highlighted the improvement observed in both the perception of households' current situation and their one-year outlook.

By city, Barranquilla (+17.4 points, up to 18.8%), Bucaramanga (+16.2, down to 14.4%), Medellín (+13.0, down to -11.6%), and Cali (+1.5, down to 13.2%) registered increases. In contrast, Bogotá recorded a drop of 1.5 percentage points.

Although the willingness to buy a home remains negative, it has improved slightly compared to previous months. The assessment of the purchase of personal property and household appliances also showed progress in most cities, with the exception of Medellín.

The CCI measures perceptions of current economic conditions and future expectations, serving as a key indicator for measuring consumer sentiment and projecting trends in household spending.
