2025-08-19·Colombia·La República

The Colombian Ministry of Labor stated that approximately 90% of the Olímpica supermarket chain's employees are employed under outsourcing schemes. The agency warned that this practice could violate labor rights and affect workers' conditions.

According to the official statement, inspection teams will be deployed to verify the legality of the contracts and determine whether they fail to comply with current regulations. The Ministry emphasized that labor outsourcing cannot be used to evade employers' legal responsibilities.

Olímpica is one of the country's leading supermarket chains, with operations in several cities and a significant presence on the Caribbean coast. The government indicated that if irregularities are found, sanctions will be applied and the affected employees will be required to file formal complaints.
